The Japanese are a beautiful people—diligent, disciplined, and incredibly hospitable. Their work ethic is unmatched, showing a commitment to excellence and perseverance in every task. Their kindness and respect for others create a warm, inviting culture that values community and harmony. Yet beneath this admirable exterior, many live without hope, caught in the pressures of societal expectations and a growing sense of isolation. It is in this space of longing and searching that the message of hope through faith can truly resonate, offering a light that renews purpose and brings lasting peace. Church Plant Japan Mission is committed to walking alongside the Japanese people, sharing this hope and the transformative love of Christ, so they might discover a life full of meaning and joy beyond their daily tasks and in the midst of their struggles.

Inside Japan:
Tokyo Missional Community
1 Year Vision (less than a year)
Jack, Meg and the kids will have made five missional related trips to Tokyo in 2025 when there was no solid plan for traveling to Tokyo. These trips have led to expanded mission opportunities as well as potentially fulfilling future educational and sociological needs for Chloe and Ethan’s Junior High and High School.
Their cohesive work with CPJ Mission Team Members, Suro and Ayaka has opened the door in forming their second missional community in Tokyo. In August, Jack and Meg hosted Suro and Ayaka’s Worship Band - Casa Lopez Music, all from Tokyo. During this 4 day visit a concert, vowel renewal ceremony, wedding ceremony, and typhoon party took place. This time spent together painted a vivid picture of what it would look like to be in community on mission together.
Cost of living in Tokyo is more than double of that in Kagoshima requiring the Adams Family to start preparing for support raising for a move in 2026!
This is endeavor of preparing the Adams Family next generation for the mission field and launching a new missional community is a huge leap of faith and will only be realized through the prayer support and financial blessings orchestrated by God who sees all and knows all!
Future Vision and Plans
Mobile Ministry
3 Year Vision
Team Adams has cultivated many relationships over the years through social media, traveling by car and last year Jack on foot through Japan. Tourism in Japan has reached an all time high where lodging is either unavailable or extremely expensive making it less affordable for many in Japan to travel. They are in need of a camping style vehicle conducive for travel and lodging to maximize serving opportunities in times of need (natural disaster response), relationship building with co-laborers and connecting with multiply missional communities.
Anyone who has worked with or for Japanese companies are familiar with the need for face-to-face meetings but here is some cultural context for those who are not familiar:
Japanese culture places a strong emphasis on face-to-face interactions in business practices. Personal meetings and in-person communication are seen as vital for building trust, understanding nuance, and fostering long-term relationships. Unlike more casual or digital-first approaches common elsewhere, Japanese professionals often prioritize meeting directly to demonstrate sincerity, respect, and commitment. This preference reflects a broader cultural value on harmony (wa), patience, and non-verbal cues, which are difficult to fully convey through email or video calls. Therefore, allocating ample time for face-to-face meetings is essential when doing business in Japan, as it establishes a foundation for successful collaboration and mutual respect.
A common through line in conversations with pastors throughout Japan is the need for rest. The average church congregation is 30 people leaving most pastors to fulfill every role of the church leaving them burnt out putting a stain on their family relationships as well.
God put the burden on Jack and Megumi’s heart to create a space where pastors and their families can get away, unplug, rest and be refreshed. CPJ Mission has the property to accommodate a build out of their current living space or a new build.
Over the next 8 years, while Chloe and Ethan are completing their Junior High School years, CPJ Mission will be transitioning their location in Kagoshima to accomodate pastor’s and their families for a time of rest, restoration and rejuvenation.
