CPJ Mission Team

Kagoshima, Japan

CPJ Mission launched in 2016 as Jack and Megumi along with their children Chloe and Ethan, prepared for a life-change as full-time independent missionaries to Japan. After several years of working with the Japanese community in various capacities, God called them to Japan to make Jesus known. Meg, originally from Japan and Jack having spent years in Japan and providing leadership to two organizations fostering relations between Japan and the U.S. they felt equipped for the call God had placed on their lives. After a couple years of preparing and support raising, they arrived in Kagoshima, Japan in January of 2018 to give their work. Through years of learning about their community and building relationships with the locals, they have been able to launch various outreach ministries to connect and serve various individuals and groups: Feeding our Friends, Community After School Academy, Community English House. These outreach opportunities have brought people into deeper relationships where people have come to know and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. These relationships continue in disciplining relationships meeting regularly through Mom’s Group and The Gathering. As a Missional Community they serve, celebrate and love one another as well as join together to serve the people in and around their city.

Tokyo, Japan

Suro & Ayaka Lopez (and Chip)

Suro and Ayaka are independent missionaries serving as Creative Arts Missionaries in Tokyo since 2022.

In the short time they have been on the mission field they have put together a band of 15 members comprised of believers and those not yet believers.

God has put on their heart to encourage and uplift current followers of Christ by partnering directly with churches and worship teams who may be lacking in musical resources, sound, or technology, offering support and expertise to enhance the worship experience. The goal is to help create an atmosphere where congregations can fully engage in worship, strengthening their faith and unity through music. Together, we strive to build vibrant worship communities that glorify God and inspire His people. Suro and Ayaka also choreograph events and partner with other Japanese Christian musicians to bring Jesus into public spaces through music at various community events all to make Jesus known.

Suro and Ayaka are inspired by a God-given dream to build a dedicated recording studio in Japan, designed to support both experienced and emerging worship songwriters and musicians. Their vision is to empower the Japanese Christian community to create more original worship music in their own language. Beyond the studio, they hope to establish a performance facility connected to a cozy coffee house, providing a welcoming space primarily for churches to host services, events, trainings, retreats, and other church activities. This space will foster creativity, community, and spiritual growth, enriching worship experiences across Japan.
