Our Team

As founders and directors of CPJ Mission, Jack and Megumi are independent missionaries that have been instrumental as a sounding board for those looking at missions in Japan and have also served as an entry point for other missionaries by providing support in areas like translation, documentation, logistical and visa support. Their openness and experience create a welcoming space for potential future missionaries to share challenges and ask questions, fostering deeper connections and collaborative working opportunities. Through their willingness to listen, encourage and even invite potential missionaries to come, observe and participate has led to other missionaries joining the mission field. They have helped others navigate cultural complexities and daily life obstacles, lending to the overall mission. Their role exemplifies how fellowship and dialogue can open doors for greater impact in reaching the people of Japan. A few of these encounters have led to partnering relationships and collaboration in creating new ministries and outreach activities.

Suro & Ayaka Lopez (and Chip)

Suro and Ayaka are independent missionaries serving as Creative Arts Missionaries in Tokyo since 2022.

In the short time they have been on the mission field they have put together a band of 15 members comprised of believers and those not yet believers.

God has put on their heart to encourage and uplift current followers of Christ by partnering directly with churches and worship teams who may be lacking in musical resources, sound, or technology, offering support and expertise to enhance the worship experience. The goal is to help create an atmosphere where congregations can fully engage in worship, strengthening their faith and unity through music. Together, we strive to build vibrant worship communities that glorify God and inspire His people.

Suro and Ayaka are inspired by a God-given dream to build a dedicated recording studio in Japan, designed to support both experienced and emerging worship songwriters and musicians. Their vision is to empower the Japanese Christian community to create more original worship music in their own language. Beyond the studio, they hope to establish a performance facility connected to a cozy coffee house, providing a welcoming space primarily for churches to host services, events, trainings, retreats, and other church activities. This space will foster creativity, community, and spiritual growth, enriching worship experiences across Japan.

Partnering Missionary Support

Jordan & Krista Neumann

Through the years, we have supported other missionaries in various ways. One of those ways is by being the receiving organization of those who are sent. This entails a lot of paperwork, translation, logistics and walking along side people who are embracing the unknown.

Most recently, Jordan and Krista arrived as independent missionaries serving in 2024. New on the mission field much of their time is spent learning the language, the culture, and about the people in and around their community. Jordan and Krista also share their time loving on the kids at our after school program, CASA, two days a week.

Our hope is that the small role we play in receiving missionaries and helping get their footing to a new way of life will lead to a productive and fruitful work in Japan as long-term missionaries.

The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
