01.26 Update
Happy New Year! We closed out the year with our neighbors family as we have done the last 6 years with rice pounding and homemade soba noodles on December 30th and 31st. In the first week welcomed the New Year with Meg’s family. We kicked off the new year with our annual bowling where we had over 30 people join us this year. We visited our missionary friends new church plant 45 minutes north of us and enjoyed a delicious home cooked Korean lunch. I ran my first of hopefully many marathons in 2026 in spite of tendon issues I have been experiencing in my left knee and ankle for the past few months. Healing is happening and I expect a full recovery soon! We also celebrated Chloe turning 12.
Tokyo Missional Community Launch
We are excited to announce the launch of Tokyo Missional Community where we will both adopt into our mission AND come along side Suro and Ayaka Lopez as they continue to lead and disciple their team in serving churches with worship and reaching people through their worship events. We will partner with them in loving, training up and discipling their group of Christ followers and reaching more Japanese in Tokyo as well as including them in our mission support budget. Joining forces will allow us to use each others gifts, multiply our efforts and our reach. We will be using a social media platform that every Japanese person in Japan uses called LINE to encourage, share teaching content, event promotion and opportunities for gathering together in person. We see this as a viable way to connect other Christ followers who often feel isolated due to limited or no access to traditional churches, missionaries or other believers. We hope to use this as an entry way to multiplying missional communities throughout Japan.
In 2025, God created several opportunities for us to meet Suro and Ayaka and their team. In July, we hosted CLM Worship Team in Kagoshima to perform live worship for our community. In November, our family travelled to Tokyo for a Christian International School visit and we met with the team for dinner and fellowship. In December, Megumi flew to Tokyo to perform in the Worship Team’s Christmas Event.

Preparing the Next Generation for Missions - Chloe and Ethan
Christian Academy Japan - Tokyo, Japan
Starting our 7th year on the mission field in Japan and experiencing all that God has done in, through and around us, I feel as if we are just getting started. Coupled with Chloe and Ethan in or close to middle school age it is time to educationally equip Chloe and Ethan to be in a position of ready when they feel led to move in the direction God has for them. After visiting Christian Academy Japan (CAJ) in Tokyo, meeting some of the teachers and staff (many who are alumni of CAJ), we would love our kids to transition from our rural Japanese learning environment to continue their schooling in a Christian English speaking environment broadening their view of Japan as a nation and the world. This will be a huge transition for our family, our community, as well as new opportunities for ministry.
Global Impact Japan
Nagi with the Warner Family - Summer 2024
Do you have a heart for the Japanese? Global Impact Japan is a great way to do outreach ministry in Japan from the comfort of your home. We have done two of these trips in the past and both times have been a wonderful experience for both our Japanese friends and their host families. Think of it as a mission trip in reverse. You get to learn about Japan, its people and culture through the life of a young Japanese person and share your life, your family and home with them for 12 days during the summer typically end of July to mid August. We are requesting 4 families willing to open up their home. We have 4 boys (one 6th grader and three 4th graders) we need families for. If you are interested or have questions please reach out to us. Approximate Dates: July 29 - August 12.
Audacious Prayers
Our home church, Crossroads, is in a message series titled Pray Wild Prayers. This topic could not come at a better time as God has given us big dreams that seem overwhelming. Audacity = a willingness to take bold risks. That is where I feel our family is right now and we want to invite you into praying audacious prayers with us. Here are the specific audacious prayers we invite you to pray with us:
To be a fully funded* mission in 2026 supporting 4 full-time missionaries leading two missional communities in outreach initiatives and events, hosting community gatherings, providing discipleship training and resources, Japanese church worship support, worship events and new music production, teaching interpretation and material translation.
* fully funded = $7,000 in additional monthly support
Chloe’s English studies for passing Christian Academy Japan Entrance Exam.
For affordable housing in Tokyo suitable for family living, missional community gatherings, and hospitality for new friends.
Open doors this summer for our family to travel and share what God is doing in Japan with small groups, Japanese churches in the U.S. and other church groups throughout the Midwest and along the East Coast.
Solidify five families willing and able to host our Japanese friends traveling to Kentucky in July.
Full clearance of U.S. Visa (Megumi) and Japan Permanent Resident Status change (Jack) in our current climate change happening in both countries.
Spiritual breakthrough in the hearts and minds of many Japanese we have grown to know and love that God would bring them into family fold.
The people of Japan that peace and hope, that only comes from our Savior Jesus Christ, is revealed to every corner of Japan.
If you are encouraged by the work God is doing through our mission AND would like to make Jesus known in Japan consider a one time donation or partner with us through monthly giving via our Giving Page.
